U.S. Cellular and Urban Influence Magazine’s Women of Influence (WOI) Breakfast Series kicked off on Friday, March 3, 2006, in Chicago. It was a great success, with a culturally diverse panel discussion on “Women in Leadership” featuring 4 dynamic women. The panelists were:

• Michelle Obama, Vice President of Community and External Affairs for the University of Chicago Hospitals and wife of U.S. Senator Barack Obama
• Camille Edwards, News Director for NBC 5, Chicago’s NBC affiliate
• Eileen Kamerick, Chief Financial Officer for Heidrick and Struggles, the world’s largest human resources consulting firm
• Blanca Fauble, Director of Multi-Cultural Alliance and Strategy for Ford Motor Company
The panel was hosted by radio personality Nikki Woods from WGCI radio in Chicago

The WOI breakfast continued in St. Louis on Friday, April 7th, where the program featured motivational speaker and hugely successful entrepreneur Gloria Mayfield Banks, who gave an empowering speech on the “A, B, C’s” for “Women in Business”. At Mary Kay Cosmetics, she has broken numerous records and sold over $24 million last year alone with 8,000 consultants. Gloria is ranked 13th internationally out of over 1.5 million saleswomen. She is the #1 ranked African American woman in Mary Kay sales worldwide.
